After every long holiday, many people suffer from 'post-holiday syndrome', and pregnant mothers are no exception. So, how should pregnant mothers cope with this special period of post-holiday syndrome?

01

Supplement sleep and improve sleep quality

During the Spring Festival, pregnant mothers may need to visit relatives and friends, which can be physically exhausting and lead to fatigue. Overexertion not only has adverse effects on themselves but also affects the health of the baby in the womb. Therefore, pregnant mothers must ensure they get enough sleep.

How can pregnant mothers improve sleep quality?

① Sleeping position: Try sleeping on the left side and regularly alternate sleeping positions. Sleeping on the left side can effectively increase blood supply to the placenta, ensuring the normal growth and development of the fetus.

② Exercise: Develop good sleep habits, avoid staying up late, and do not engage in intense exercise before bed. For example, prenatal yoga can be done in the evening or afternoon to reduce physical excitement after exercise.

③ Diet: Some pregnant mothers experience significant changes in taste during pregnancy, but they should still try to avoid foods that cause discomfort, such as coffee, tea, and fried foods. Limit the intake of refined starch foods, such as white bread and sweets, as these can easily cause an imbalance in blood acidity and alkalinity, affecting sleep quality.

Give your stomach a 'bath'

Pregnant mothers tend to eat more during the Spring Festival, so after the holiday, they should pay attention to adjusting their diet structure and avoid overly greasy foods to prevent greater burden on the stomach.

First, pregnant mothers can eat more fruits and vegetables to help cleanse the stomach, such as cantaloupe, kiwi, and grapes. They can choose two or three types each day based on their taste, and not too much at a time, just one or two pieces, three to four times a day. Additionally, the post-holiday diet should maintain food diversity and balance, including a certain amount of staple foods, milk, eggs, vegetables, legumes, and fruits.

03

Cervical pain

During the Spring Festival holiday, pregnant mothers may experience cervical pain and stiffness from looking down at their phones for long periods. They can perform neck exercises, do neck stretching movements, massage gently with both hands, apply heat, avoid prolonged looking down, and refrain from maintaining a single posture for too long. Physical therapy can also help alleviate symptoms.

04

Regular prenatal check-ups

In addition to regularly visiting the hospital for systematic prenatal check-ups, pregnant mothers should maintain a reasonable lifestyle and monitor their blood pressure and weight at home. In the later stages of pregnancy, they should also count fetal movements daily, observe changes in fetal movements, and monitor for any symptoms such as vaginal bleeding or abdominal tightness. If there are any discomforts during pregnancy, they do not have to strictly adhere to the prenatal check-up schedule and can visit the hospital at any time.
