Reason 2: Unreasonable dietary structure.
As the saying goes, illness comes from the mouth; an unreasonable dietary structure can also lead to high blood sugar in expectant mothers. A large intake of high-sugar and high-fat foods during pregnancy stimulates increased insulin secretion. When the pancreas cannot handle this pressure and insulin secretion cannot meet the body's needs, it will lead to high blood sugar in pregnant mothers.
 
Reason 3: Excess weight.
Pregnant mothers who are overweight will have significantly reduced insulin effectiveness in lowering blood sugar. Therefore, even with the same amount of food intake, they require more insulin than normal-weight pregnant mothers to maintain overall blood sugar balance. How to arrange diet for high blood sugar during pregnancy?

1. Eat less and more frequently, dividing daily food intake into 5-6 meals.Because eating too much at once can cause a rapid rise in blood sugar, while fasting for too long can lead to hunger-induced ketosis. It is best to have 3 main meals and 3 small meals.

 

2. Eat less meat, more vegetables, and consume fruits between meals.High-sugar fruits should be avoided, such as sugarcane, watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew, cherries, etc.; increase dietary fiber intake, such as vegetables, low-sugar fruits, seaweed, and legumes, which are rich in dietary fiber and have a good effect on lowering blood sugar.
