So what is the pelvic floor muscle?

The female pelvic floor is mainly composed of muscles and fascia.

It acts like a hammock.

It supports the pelvic organs such as the uterus, rectum, and bladder at the anal-perineal area.

Many women inevitably suffer varying degrees of damage to the pelvic floor muscles during pregnancy and childbirth.

This leads to dysfunction of the pelvic floor muscles.

Mild cases manifest as vaginal laxity.

Dissatisfaction with sexual life, lower abdominal heaviness, frequent urination, constipation, etc.

Severe cases manifest as urinary incontinence, uterine prolapse.

Bladder prolapse, rectal prolapse, and other diseases.

Causing indescribable pain and affecting quality of life.

So in daily life,

how can we avoid damage to the pelvic floor muscles?

Let's learn together with Chief Instructor Zhu of postpartum rehabilitation.

Let's get started!

At the event, we prepared fruits, snacks, etc. The mothers listened to Instructor Zhu's detailed explanation of what pelvic floor rehabilitation is, the harms of pelvic floor diseases, and why pelvic floor rehabilitation is necessary, etc. Through various methods such as pictures and texts, the mothers gained a clearer and deeper understanding of postpartum rehabilitation.

Science popularization time.

Is pelvic floor dysfunction only for women who have vaginal deliveries?

Wrong! In fact, vaginal delivery is indeed an important cause of postpartum pelvic floor dysfunction, but it is not the only reason. Factors such as pregnancy, decreased estrogen levels, and weight gain during pregnancy are also significant causes of pelvic dysfunction.

In other words, cesarean section patients may also experience urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse, and they also need to undergo pelvic floor rehabilitation training.

Why do pelvic floor rehabilitation?

During pregnancy, as the fetus develops, the size and weight of the uterus continuously increase. By the time of full-term pregnancy, the contents of the uterus increase by about hundreds of times compared to the non-pregnant state, and the weight of the uterus increases nearly 20 times. The fetal head directly compresses and pulls the pelvic floor muscles and neuromuscular junctions, leading to abnormal function and physiological metabolism of the pelvic floor muscles. During vaginal delivery, the pelvic floor muscles and nerves are extremely stretched, causing tearing of the pelvic floor muscles and fascia and nerve damage, resulting in urinary incontinence and other pelvic dysfunction diseases.

When is the best time to train the pelvic floor muscles?

All mothers who give birth after 28 weeks of pregnancy (regardless of vaginal or cesarean delivery) should undergo an assessment of pelvic floor muscle function about 42 days postpartum.

In addition, the first year postpartum is the 'golden time' for the recovery of pelvic floor muscle function. The earlier the training, the better the effect, so all mothers must pay attention.

Of course, if you have already missed the golden training period postpartum, don't be discouraged. Gradually starting to exercise can also promote the recovery of the pelvic floor muscles.
It is important to know that if no training is done, with age, decreased hormone levels, and muscle relaxation, symptoms will become increasingly severe, and it will be too late to regret then!

After becoming a mother, you will spend more time and energy loving your children and family. However, for everyone, loving oneself is always the most important topic, so take action quickly and become the pride of yourself and all those who love you!

成为妈妈后,将花更多的时间和精力在爱孩子爱家人身上,但是,对于每一个人来说,爱自己都永远是最重要的课题,所以赶紧行动起来,成为你自己和所有爱你的人的骄傲吧!
